I'm a qualified commercial CAA drone pilot and last week shot some aerials for Scotty Shaw's new film The Wild Dream. It was great to work with him and the actors Meg Birley and Rahman Telliam. Here's a short montage of some of the shots: Shooting some drone aerials for Scotty Shaw's "The Wild Dream" film in the Lake District from Kaleel Zibe on Vimeo.
Introducing my new Uganda trip! I'm delighted to be partnering with Penda Photo Tours to offer this 10 day exciting wildlife photography holiday, covering critically endangered mountain gorillas as well as our closest cousins: chimpanzees, and a host of other primates. Not only that, but we've added on a classic safari to see lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, birds and much more. For this fantastic trip, a
As some of you may know, my two daughters are Irish dancers, even though we haven't an Irish bone in our bodies. This short post will give you a flavour of why it’s taken that long and how I’ve moved from stills to moving pictures. Much pleasure,
“I guess it’s the equivalent of ascending Everest…I think it’s harder!” - Tony Holt, ultra runner Some of you may remember 18 months ago me saying I was making a film about Tony attempting the Bob Graham Round: a 66 mile, 27,000ft, 42 peak circuit around the Lake District, all within 24 hours. Well, finally I can announce that I've finished! The film is about
In mid July I spent a very enjoyable couple of days filming gannets with my friend and fellow pro wildlife photographer, Alan Hewitt. There are about 22,000 gannets at RSPB Bempton Cliffs as well as 180,000 other seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, kittiwakes and even a random albatross seen shortly before we arrived. Living near the Farne Islands, we're used to having puffins and the like
Another fantastic day at the Farne Islands yesterday! Thank you to my lovely workshop clients: welcome back to old friends and welcome aboard to new ones! Here are a few images I took during the trip: Sunset gannet taking off from a feeding frenzy Incoming puffin in flight with sand eels Arctic tern eruption on Inner Farne Preening
Kenya's Maasai people are under threat. The Mara's wildlife is under threat. The Peach Herd is a sustainable grazing initiative by Hamish Stoddart of Peach Pubs to help both the people and the wildlife. Find out more in this short film I've edited for Hamish, using a lot of the video footage I took whilst there last year. He's looking for volunteers to go to
As a bit of a side project, I've had something of a throwback to my university days: writing code. I used to write industrial monitoring software before moving to the family business, Multichem, and subsequently becoming a filmmaker / photographer, so I've dusted off some of the old skills (very rusty!) and have been developing the new website for Multichem Ltd.. That's the ink manufacturing company
