I’m delighted to announce that eight of my recent red kite mosaic pictures are to be used to produce greetings cards to raise money for radio-tagging of the kites.
Friends of Red Kites (FoRK) commissioned me last year to take photos of a huge mosaic red kite next to several North East England landmark sites. The resulting images have been touring galleries round the region. The following images have gone off to the printer today – you might recognise a couple of localΒ icons!
I’m pleased that my favourite four images are included in the selection, Kaleel. Do you remember when we were at St. Mary’s Island and the beautiful Rainbow appeared? You were just in time to get a superb shot of it behind the kite mosaic. If the weather is reasonable, we are building the Red Kite Mosaic on Palace Green, Durham Cathedral at 10a.m. on Saturday 24 May. Volunteers will lead the build but any visitors will be encouraged to join in – why not come?
